Try TRIZ Brain Blitz to solve problems innovatively & remember 'the important'
My favourite takeaway from TRIZ is to switch on clear thinking at will. Oxford TRIZ stops us wasting our BRAIN power – and offers processes which are simple mental prompts. This ensures we can always remember relevant and important knowledge when challenged.
Innovation and idea generation both rely on this, and TRIZ enables us to always call on our experience and education. By applying, sharing and building on our best brain power, teams can move forward to create new systems and solutions.
The modern mantra is to minimise waste – whether it’s to help save the planet, or be more time efficient - much more important is never to fritter away your teams 'best thinking time' and brain power. Teams tying TRIZ can maximise their mental acuity, and in the minimum time achieve innovative and pragmatic results.

Innovation beyond BS
What does Innovation beyond BS mean to you? I coined the phrase in despair when yet another team told me BRAIN STORMING (BS) was all they needed to achieve innovation.... in Oxford TRIZ this is just the important first step – everyone has ideas, and it is important to gather and record everyone’s solutions including all previous and spontaneous answers. Innovation is blocked when 'bucket-head' people refuse to try new techniques.
Oxford TRIZ offers linked and fundamental approaches – which deliver world beating innovation to anyone:
a) Solution Triggers all the 100 or so known ways (concepts) to solve problems - delivered in 4 lists (Contradictions / Trends / Standard Solutions / Effects to access the world’s knowledge), plus processes to generate pragmatic ideas from relevant concept triggers.
b) Genius Thinking tools To access ‘on-demand’ our own knowledge and experience. To stimulate ideas and brainpower to logically find the best solutions to even our most difficult problems.
c) Working together - Individuals / Teams/ Organisations By changing us & our thinking/problem solving approaches, by making them:
Convergent and Divergent when appropriate (Prism of TRIZ)
Move between OPEN (very broad = ideas) and CLOSED (contained and focussed = concepts).
OPEN & CLOSED = contradiction (40 TRIZ ways to overcome all contradictions).
Our INNOVATION team workshops are available online, in-house or at the location of your choice - and for big or small teams. We help organisations bring together significant stakeholders for effective, structured, fun and fast problem solving sessions.

Stalled team, design next generation product with TRIZ
TRIZ resource thinking helps us all create clever solutions by mobilising what's already there. A clever technical team, tasked with delivering a smaller, cheaper, better industrial fire alarm, broke their six months deadlock after learning TRIZ for two days. Their TRIZ inspired solution enabled them to meet all their design objectives and cut manufacturing costs by 50%.
They also not only retained, but increased market-share on launch. Critical success came from uncovering and solving the fundamental design contradiction – the logic of which had eluded them for over six months. Outside their offices, a full skip of rejected prototypes evidence of their protracted struggle before finding the answer together with TRIZ.
Our Fast Innovative Problem solving with TRIZ webinar is on Tuesday 8 October at 14.00 (UK Time).
This fast paced and lively 40 minute session with Karen Gadd, explains how Oxford TRIZ ensures we 'know what we know' and can locate on demand the elusive innovative solutions we need. Logical yet simple processes boost our brains, and build the best habits for clear thinking and innovative idea generation to help us:
Resolve tough challenges
Intelligently share knowledge, ideas and experience for team co-operation
