Successful Fast Team Problem Solving – to locate innovative, pragmatic answers
If youhave completed our online Fundamental Problem Solving or the Face to Face Technical TRIZ then you are eligible to sign up for the next Advanced Innovative Problem Solvingcourse (AIPS is online April 15-19). AIPS has received phenomenally good feedback from our ‘graduates’ in how it helps them tackle any problem and lead others through the logical processes. Two engineers (from different organisations) enthusiastically report how they each guided their teams through intense half day sessions – which established clear definition of the real problem followed by location of pragmatic (previously elusive) solutions which were adopted. One described it amazing but as intense as a maths exam; the other said “I had the incredible opportunity to lead a brainstorming session with a group of experts specializing in both thermal dynamics and mechanical/material engineering. Seeing an idea turn into a real solution in our meeting was truly inspiring”
Advanced Innovative Problem Solving takes just 12.5 hours over 5 days and covers the logical and pragmatic ways to scope, define and tackle any problem. At 10.30 each day there is an engaging one hour live lecture, which ends with a clearexplanation of the 30 minute daily assignment. At 14.00 there is a one hour live tutorial with other delegates. This enables in-depth discussions about how best to tackle problems and complete the assignment, and covers any questions about the tools learned each day.

In this article Dr Luiz Guedes explains how TRIZ can be successfully applied to software development - despite not being conceived with information systems in mind. Dr Guedes argues that TRIZ can be put to use solving contradictions at the start of the software development cycle and as a guide for how best to evolve existing software systems. Plus:
